I specialize in photojournalistic-style wedding photography as well as environmental portraits and job-site and architectural images for commercial clients. I am also a highly capable event and product photographer.
I am currently based in Hamilton, Ontario, but I travel throughout Ontario.
Philosophy
I'm deeply drawn to the idea of storytelling using still pictures, and it's something I try extend to all my photographic work. Great photography has the power to captivate a viewer's attention by drawing the broad strokes of the viewing experience, but still leaving some mystery... some room for a viewer to interpret things in their own way.
My approach to storytelling for weddings and events is entirely different to that for corporate shoots. Weddings and events are organic, and the excitement and challenge come from seeking out the story of the day as it unfolds so that the memory of what actually took place is preserved forever.
For corporate photography, I will usually work with a client to establish a concept for the story or mood for the shoot up front. In this way, the images that are subsequently created can properly represent the concepts with which a client wishes their brand, image or product to be associated.
When I'm working, I like to keep things light and relaxed. Making a real connection with my subjects through talking and laughing and just getting to know each other makes all the difference. I want you to leave not only with great images, but also having had a great experience.

I'd be lost without photography, music, my beautiful fiancee Jenn, and our mischievous cat Mia. I love the outdoors: mountain biking, kayaking, finding and taming the meanest, most challenging hiking trails in the country. When I have some free time (...there's never enough) I enjoy cooking, reading and playing the piano.
